rPath Linux is a Linux distribution built with the new Conary distributed software management system. Conary is designed, based on many years of Linux software packaging and distribution development experience, to automate many of the tasks that have made it difficult to build Linux distributions. rPath's mission is to provide system software that is easily tailored to suit unique application needs. rPath Linux, built with the Conary distributed software management system, is not only a distribution in its own right, but also a base technology explicitly designed to enable you to create purpose-built operating system images using the rBuilder Online technology.

Updates

    The "conary updateall" command will update all the software
    on your system managed by Conary. The "conary update group-dist"
    command will update all the software on your system that was
    (or could have been) installed from the distribution media.

    rPath Linux update advisories, both for security and maintenance
    updates, are published on mailing lists:

     o To receive only security updates but not maintenance updates,
        subscribe to security-announce@lists.rpath.com at
        http://lists.rpath.com/mailman/listinfo/security-announce

     o To receive both security and maintenance updates, subscribe
        to update-announce@lists.rpath.com at
        http://lists.rpath.com/mailman/listinfo/update-announce

    There is no need to subscribe to both lists.

    rPath Linux 1 updates will be publicly available until six
    months after rPath Linux 2 has been released. After that time,
    updates will be made available on a subscription basis. For
